The Father Tree is actually a network of interconnecting trees that surround a deep, crystal clear lake. It was shaped by Valek and his lifemate Rehna. The elves live either in the Father Tree or in the surrounding caverns and caves. Running water streams flow around the holt for daily use. Outward from the holt, to the South lies the human encampment. North of the holt are the mountanous peaks where few Gliders are said to dwell. To the West of the holt is Dark Swamp, a marsh-type area filled with deadly quicksand and tangleweed patches. Incidentally, this is also where most of the healing herbs and roots can be found. Only the bravest journey there. No one really knows what lies East of the forest. many have travelled that way, none have yet returned.
