Magnakai Disciplines

Weaponmastery

This discipline gives the Kai Lord more skill in his weapons. For each level from 11 to 20, select a tight group of weapons. The Kai Master is considered to be a Master, as per Combat and Tactics, in the use of those weapons.

Improvements

Level 15: Select one of the Martial Arts styles from Combat and Tactics. You are now a specialist in that style.

Level 17: The Kai Master halves all range penalties when using a ranged weapon.

Level 18: The Kai Master is considered to have High Mastery in all of the tight groups selected.


Animal Control

This discipline gives the Kai Lord a +2 his Animal Lore NWP. He also gains the Land-based Riding(Horse) NWP.

Improvements

Level 14: The Kai Master is able to block the senses of taste and smell in an animal. The animal has a saving throw vs spell to avoid the effect. If it fails the saving throw, many animals will become confused and stop what they are doing for a few minutes. The animal's senses remain blocked for 2 minutes for every level the Kai Master has over 12.

Level 16: The Kai Master can, while in a forest, summon animals to aid him. They will stay for only 30 minutes, and only 1 animal per two levels after 15th (round up), will appear. The Kai Master does not have any control over what kind of animal will come, and the animals will not travel further that 1 mile to reach the Kai Lord's location.

Level 19: The Kai Master is able to control animals. The control lasts while the he continues to conentrate. The animal recives a saving throw vs spell to avoid control.


Curing

Gives the Herblism NWP. Triples the Kai Lord's natural healing rate. Increases the amount of damage cured for each level to 1d6+1. In place of one use of his healings, he can cure natural diseases, blindness, and deafness, provided that the subject still has the apporate sense organs. To use his power, he must be able to concentrate for a full minute.

Improvements

Level 14 - The Kai Lord can use one of his healings to Slow Poison. The spell lasts for 10 minutes for every level over 10 the Kai Lord has gained.

Level 17 - The Kai Lord can use two of his healings to Neutralize Poison.

Level 19 - Once every 100 days, the Kai Lord can heal himself of 20 points of damage in battle if his hit points fall below 6. This is done instantly, and expends all of his healings for the day.


Invibility

The Kai Lord no longer has his Hide in Shadows and Move Silently skills penalized for being in a non-wilderness setting. In addition, he only suffers half penalties for his situation. For intance, if the Kai Lord is in a bright room with little to hide behind, and would normally have a -50% penalty to Hide in Shadows, the Kai Lord's penalty would be half that or 25%.

In addition, the Kai Lord can mask his body head and scent. For creatures that are able to detect invisble things thru excelent senses, this means that the chance that they will notice the Kai Lord while he is hidden is half normal.

Improvements

Level 15 - Kai Masters learn to redirect the attention of people. My making a successful Wis check, and if the target(s) fail thier saving throws, the Kai Master is able to give the target a strong impression of he went that way or look over here. Most people will follow this impression, unless they have good reason to disbleve it. IE, they saw the Kai Master go down one corridor, and he is trying to direct thier attention to another one.

Level 16 - The Kai Master is able to mask any sound that eminates from what he is wearing and or holding. This allows him to halve penalties for Moving Silently in armor.

Level 18 - The Kai Master is able to Change Self once per day per level over 17. The spell lasts for 1 minute per level.


Huntmastery

This allows the Kai Master to gain the benifits of Survival in all terrain, including wasteland and desert. He also gains a +2 to all uses of the Survival NWP.

The Kai Master gains a +2 on all saving throws vs. effects that can be dodged. He also gains a +2 to avoid surprize.

Improvements

Level 14 - The Kai Master gains the Climb Walls Skill at 40%, plus 10% per level over 14, upto a maximum of 100% at level 20.

Level 16 - The Kai Master can magnify his vision at will. When he does so, all visual ranges are multpiled by 5.
