Your Angel

Part 2
Sakuragi watched over Rukawa’s sleeping figure. He sighed in content as he leaned back against his seat. It really was worth looking after this guy for sixteen years…look what he had grown into- a handsome young youth. Rukawa shuddered slightly, probably from the cold. Noticing this, Sakuragi immediately got up from his seat, took a blanket from his backback, and gently covered Rukawa with it. A lock of hair fell onto Rukawa’s eyelashes. Sakuragi smiled and swept it away. ‘You’re so beautiful…’ he thought to himself as he slowly made his way back to his seat.

"No need to be so friendly, Hanamichi." Youhei said to the image in front of him. He punched the glass ball and winced as the sudden pain hit him. He rubbed his hand gingerly, his eyes not leaving the object. Why had he suggested this idea to Sakuragi in the first place? Mayumi had told him this would happen and did he believe her? No…he thought he could handle this himself…he thought that he had everything under control…and where did it lead him? Somewhere between the Earth and Hell. Youhei sighed to himself. Why did he never listen to his own angel?
"Somebody looks like the green-eyed monster."
Youhei turned and saw Mayumi at the doorway. He could see that her wings were folded neatly behind her. She brushed her long black hair away from her eyes and grinned at Youhei.
"Long time no see, kiddo." She greeted him warmly.
Youhei smiled and walked towards her, leaving the glass ball. "Mayumi…I was just thinking about you." Youhei said, wrapping his arms around her.
"I know." Mayumi laughed softly, returning the embrace, " So…how’s your task coming along? Do you need my help in anything?"
"No thanks. My time’s almost done anyway." Youhei said, then looked curiously at her wings, "Where are you going?"
"Huh..? Oh, this?" Mayumi asked, stretching her wings, "I was going to visit Earth when I decided to drop by."
Youhei laughed. "Come on…tell me the real reason you came here."
Mayumi smiled and sat down, legs-crossed, on air. Her wings had dissapeared by then. "I am supposed to help you through life…whether it’s Earth-life or Angel-life."
"What’s that supposed to mean? I’ve got a problem?" Youhei asked, raising his eyebrows.
"Yup," Mayumi smiled, licking her lips, "A big problem."
" And what is that?" Youhei tauntered, smiling a bit. Mayumi grinned then laughed. Youhei kept quiet, his eyes darting back to the image screen.
"That’s your problem." Mayumi suddenly spoke up.
Youhei looked back to her, his eyes widening. "Huh? What—" Youhei started.
"Silly," Mayumi said, shaking her head, smiling, " It’s Sakuragi, of course."

"Rukawa-san…we’re here."
Rukawa sighed and opened his eyes reluctantly. A stranger with the brightest red hair he had ever seen was standing in front of him, backpack slung over his shoulder. Rukawa tried to remember who this person was, apparently, the stranger knew him. The person laughed at Rukawa’s questioning face.
"I’m Sakuragi Hanamichi. We met last night?" Sakuragi said, grinning.
Rukawa squinted his eyes, taking a good look at Sakuragi. He got up from his seat slowly, his suitcase in hand. Rukawa nodded, more to himself then to Sakuragi. Sakuragi didn’t seem to be bothered by Rukawa’s quietness. "Do you know where you’re going?" Sakuragi asked, getting off the train. Rukawa shook his head and followed Sakuragi out.
"Do you have a place to crash?" Sakuragi asked, his eyes filled with concern.
Rukawa shook his head again and stepped off the train, tripping over his feet at the same time. His suitcase fell onto the concrete floor and Rukawa stumbled onto Sakuragi.
"Whoa…watch out, Rukawa-san..," Sakuragi said while laughing, catching Rukawa in his arms.
Rukawa bowed his head down. His face was burning and no way was he about to let some stranger see that. He steadied himself then look up again, his eyes meeting Sakuragi’s. Sakuragi smiled at him, then held out his hand. Again, Rukawa didn’t accept the gesture and straightened himself. He took his luggage that was lying on the floor and brushed the dirt off of it. Sakuragi waited until Rukawa was finished before nodding his head towards the exit door. Not bothering to reply, Rukawa walked off, leading the way towards the exit. Sakuragi shook his head and smiled.
‘Rukawa..Rukawa…,’ he thought to himself. "Hey, wait up!!" With that, Sakuragi ran to catch up with Rukawa.
