Dwarves

Dwarves are like short, stocky, and hairy humans. They tend to be stumpy, and move slower. However, they tend to also be more solid than taller races. Most dwarves live underground, but some do live above ground. They are notorious metal workers and miners. Dwarves live to about 400 years of age.

Dwarves will never be seen beardless. Even female dwarves have whiskers. To be beardless is a sign of dishonour or shame. Dwarves also have infravision. They are resistant to magic and almost NEVER practice it.

The dwarves split into two main groups during the Kinslayer Wars. One group lives beneath ground, and one lives above.

Hylar

The Hylar tend to be the most level headed dwarves. They are noble, tend towards true leadership. They live on an island in the underground kingdom of Thorbardin.

Daewar

Daewar are "good" dwarves, like the Hylar. Unlike the Hylar, they are less concerned with honour and more with profit.

Theiwar

Theiwar are evil dwarves. They in Thorbardin, but more apart from the rest of the dwarven society. They are pale, frail, and use magic. They are not trustworthy.

Daergar

These are dumb dwarves. They also live in Thorbardin. They are easily manipulated by the evil Theiwar. They are brutish, being the sword to the Theiwar's magic. Unlike the other dwarves, the Daergar are very violent and have no qualms about murder.

Dewar

The Dewar are also evil dwarves, but are nothing like the Daewar or the Daergar. They live far beneath Thorbardin, where other dwarves refuse to live. They are exiled because they tend to insanity. They are small and stunted, and because of their exile, have become inbred. The Dewar are born killers, and excel at torture.

Aghar

The Aghar are most commonly known as Gully Dwarves. They were created supposedly either by the Greygem, or by a dwarf and gnome pairing. Their leader is the highbulp. They are very very stupid, cannot count past two - one is one, anything more is two. They live everywhere, pretty much.

Klar

These were hill dwarves - dwarves who lived on the surface. They are slaves now to the Hylar.

Neidar

The Neidar are hill dwarves. They hate and loathe the life of the mountain dwarves, yet still seek to be equal with them. They tend towards goodness, with very few demonstrations of Dark Dwarf tendencies.

Zhakar

These are also evil dwarves. They live above ground in the mountains. They are much like a hidden race; in fact, very few knew of their existance until HighLord Ariakan found them. They culture a mold which infects dwarves with a leperous disease. This mold was part of the creation of Draconians.
