"'I've killed Shoju,' Toturi showed them. 'And that is his sword in the broken Emerald Throne.'"
"'Just lead them here, Daini.' Toturi looked to the narrow entrance and high cliffs. 'We will do the rest.'"
"'Not yet!' Toturi cried, watching his spearmen eye the advancing undead masses. They waited, waited for the zombies to march into the trap their general had laid for them..."
"Samurai gain glory, and Shugenja wisdom, but what do the people gain from this war?"
"Sometimes, letting him know our advantage is advantage enough."
"Toturi cried, 'For Rokugan!' and their cheers echoed his battlecry as the combined might of three armies charged the walls." -The Day of Thunder, Part Five
"He who rules with honor is like the pole-star. Around such a man, all the lesser stars can do nothing but follow in his path..." -Toturi I
"Toturi, my Master, when will you return?"
"Loyalty is greater than honor. If it means my life, I will find Toturi, and free my Lady from exile." -Shosuro Nishiko
"I bear the right of free travel throught Rokugan, and I search for Toturi himself. Ban me from your lands, Lion, and my only choice is war." -Shinjo Shirasu

"Thought Toturi's Personal samurai scattered to the four winds in search of their Master, his guard remained, steadfast, before the palace gates."
"He will return, but not as he once was. He will be changed, and his eyes will show the darkness that has consumed him." -Itako
"Toturi himself gave us the right 'to regent all disputes and troubles of the Unaligned lands.' The Scorpion Provinces stand empty. Unaligned. As do the lands of the Phoenix..."
"Borne by each Akodo and passed down from father to son, the daggers have long been a sign of loyalty to the Akodo home. With Toturi gone, only five remain."
"It is time to make new the old and to destroy those who have been unfaithful. Take your men, and rise against the Naga, for they are no longer our allies..." -The Return of Toturi the First
"His blade sang through Osugi's body, and all sound ceased. In that instant, Toturi spoke a word that had never been heard before in all the courts of Rokugan: 'Kolat'."
"We found the Emperor in the ruins of Kyuden Isawa, where the shore was blackened by the great fires of the Clan Wars. Though injured and weak, he lives on, and with him, the Empire shall rise again!"
"Toturi kept him from harm during the Clan Wars, risking his own life. I asked the Emperor why, and all he said was, 'I owe him more than he has become.'" -Hasame
"Banu stepped toward the Jade Throne, 'I am the only heir!' he shouted triumphantly. 'The throne is mine!' At that moment, the door to the chamber opened, and all eyes turned to see Toturi's face."
"Seated upon the Jade Throne, Toturi called forth the Unicorn ambassador, 'You have served well in my absence,' he said, 'so serve me again. Destroy the Lion who foul our land with black magics. Let all know the Unicorn are my right hand now.'" -The High Histories of the Lion.

Game Note:
Each of the Toturi's are awesome in their own way, however, their gold cost may limit their uses. Toturi's regular version is a 7 gold for 4 force, potential of 6F 5C and Double Chi, however, the 5 honor lost and 10 honor requirement are the killers. Toturi experienced 2 just cost too much, by the time you can get him in play, the game would be decided already. The two useful ones are the experienced and experienced 3. Both at 15 gold, its not too much for after the 5th turn, and give you enough time to gain up to 10 honor. Although Toturi experienced has an awesome ability on the battlefield, bowing a 6F tactician just to cancel one action may not be worth it most of the time. Toturi the First on the other hand is 7F 6C for 15 gold, he can get out one of his men for free each turn or smash a province to pieces. However, I make this plea to all Toturi's Army players, please do not use Toturi for ninja or kolat purposes.

Story Note:
Toturi was the Empire's main general before the Clan Wars. During the Scorpion Clan Coup, he was deceived by the Scorpions and dishonored. His failure to protect the Emperor and questioning of the New Emperor's actions caused his entire family to be dishonored. After being refused to seppuku in shame, Toturi took refuge in the Dragon Clan. During the Clan Wars, he lead a band of Ronins and Dragon Samurais against the growing Shadowlands evil. Toturi lead Rokugan all the way to the Day of Thunder, where he and his childhood friend Doji Hoturi killed Fu Leng, the Dark God. After the Day of Thunder Toturi was made Emperor and guided Rokugan to two years of peace. Then on the day of his second coronation, Toturi was found missing. After his men and samurai of all origins have searched far and wide for him, a combined effort of all the clans saved Toturi from Morikage Castle. However, rumors are spreading that Toturi has been changed. When he returned Toturi ordered attacks against the Lion, Mantis and Naga, who had caused trouble during his absence. He made the Unicorn his right hand and made Toku the daimyo of a new minor clan, the Monkey.
