Game Note:
Both version of Takuans' ability to add force and chi to fellow army personalities are powerful. Although their 11 gold cost isn't too bad for the brute force Takuan provides, I wouldn't suggest putting more than one Takuan in a deck. For that job, the Experienced Takuan is much better, with both the tactician trait and a built in massive shinjo's breath. It is scary sometimes to see what you can do with an experienced Takuan and a rallying cry.
Story Note:
Takuan was Toturi's right hand man during the Clan Wars. With the help of Kakita Yoshi he ruled the Empire in Toturi's absence. However when Toturi returned his first order was Takuan's death. No one knows why, but under the blade of the new Emerald Champion, Takuan committed seppuku.
