Well met my friends. My name is Talorin, and I'll be your guide to our town of
Burning Water.
Burning Water. Now that's a magical name. So, you wanted a little bit of history
and a tour around the town, huh?
The town was founded about three decades ago when the crew of the HRS Explorer
found this valley while trying to outrun a maurading horde of goblins. The horde
had shot the Explorer out from underneath them and started chasing them on foot.
The Captian and crew had ran the day befor and all night. In a state of near total
exhaustion they
stumbled on to the banks of the river that flows from the waterfall. It was just
before daybreak that they decided that they couldn't run any more and had to make a
stand, even if it meant their death. (For to keep running was sure death by being
picked off one at a time.) So they steeled themselves and waited for the goblins to
catch up to them. And, the goblins caught up to them mere moments befor dawn. In
their sadistic arrogance the goblins started to taunt the seemingly doomed Explorers.
Then the most miraculous thing happened as the sun rose...the reflection of the sun
off of the waterfall burst into a bright fiery halo so bright and intense it scared
the goblins senseless and they ran for their lives. The Captian of the Explorer,
named the valley Burning Waters for what had happened.
The Captian and crew of the Explorer returned to civilization and word soon spread
about their miraculous
escape and in no time a town sprung up on the banks of the river underneath the
waterfall. The Explorer was not to be re-built for many years but the Captian and
crew still gather from time to time in the town of Burning Waters to relive their
adventures. The most recent gathering of the Explorer's crew was to honor their
fallen comrade, the healer named Leonardo McCray, who died on June 11, 1999.
