Gems of Infinity review By: Cedric Story: There are legendary gems of infinity, and with new evils arising, they must be protected. The one who gets them all may make any wish. One of the first things I noticed in this game was the music. It was nothing I have ever heard before and it was great. The sound effects are abundant and well used, which doesn't happen often in these games. The author put in a nice little text graphic when you enter areas to tell you what it is called. A really cool thing is the animated water. He set it up with some events to switch back and forth between to different water tiles. The only problem with this is that it causes quite a bit of lag in the game sometimes. The floating clouds in Horthon Pass kicks major ass. That is a really awesome effect. It's amazing how much people more and more break the limitations of rpg maker 95 and raises it to a whole new level. There are some typos, but most are not really noticeable. The maps look well done too. Some events are a little screwy, like when you go into the castle and talk to the king. They talk about the mage Eric disappearing, but he doesn't disappear until after they finish talking. At the end of the first chapter, you get lost, because no where does it say to go to Eric's cave. There needs to be more places to save, and oh dear, the return of the mosaic method of screen switching. sound/music = 98% story = 90% maps/events = 99% score = 95.7%
