MAGICAL CORRESPONDENCES
In the art of spellcraft, correspondences are things, times, and symbols that share the same magical energies and vibrations. They help Witches focus on their desires and greatly enhance the power of spells. The magical correspondences is probably as old as the practice of the magical arts itself, and it is said that the more correspondences you incorporate into your spellwork, the great you chances for obtaining successful magical results.
For instance, if you were to use correspondences in a spell to bring more money into your life, you would perform the spell durin a waxing Moon ( the time of increase ), use a new green candle, invoke a deity associated with prosperity, burn a money-attracting incense (such as pine), brew a potion from herbs that possess the correct magical properties for money spells, and so forth.
You should keep in mind that while correspondences may be beneficial tools for magical workings, they are merely tools and are not the magic themselves. For truly successful magic, you must combine the correspondences with creative visualization and the power of your own will. If you are new to spell casting, it may take a bit of practice before you are able to master it, so don't become discouraged and give up if you do not achieve immediate results.



COLOR CORRESPONDENCES

Color correspondences are an essential aspect of candle magic because each color possesses a unique vibration, attribute, symbolism, and influence. Therefore, it is important to work only with candle colors that match you magical intents.


BLACK: Some people associate black candles only with the left-hand path; however, black is a color that actually banishes negativity and evil influences. It is ideal for breaking hexes, jinxes, and curses. Black is also one of the traditional colors of the Samhain sabbat and the Goddess in Her crone aspect.
BLUE: Blue is the color of peace and tranquillity, baby boys, spiritual awareness, protection during sleep, the astrological signs of Aquarius, Posces and Virgo, and the throat chakra (royal blue).
BROWN: Brown is the color for spells for protection of familiars and household pets, locating lost objects, and the solving problems concerning the home. It posesses Capricornian vibrations.
GOLD: Gold is the sacred color of solar deities. It is used in spells involving intuition and protection, and is associated with the astrological sign of Leo and the Heart chakra.


GRAY: Gray is used in candle magic primarily for neutralizing negative energies. It is associated with the astrological sign of Virgo. Some spell casters use gray candles in the practice of what is known as "gray magic."
GREEN: Green is the appropriate color for spells involving fertility, healing, luck, money, and prosperity. It is used in rituals to counteract greed and jealousy. It is associated with the astrological sign of Capricorn and the solar plexus chakra, and it is sacred to fertility deities.
ORANGE: Orange is used in spells involving courage, legal matters, concentration, and encouragement. It is associated with the root chakra, and is one of the colors associated with the sign of Taurus and the sabbat of Samhain.
PINK: Pink is used in spells involving love (both sexual and platonic), baby girls, femininity, friendships, and overcoming evil. Mauve shades are associated with the astrological sign of Taurus.


PURPLE: Purple is used for all things of a psychic nature, divination, independence, and ambition. It is associated with the astrological signs of Libra and Sagittarius and with the crown chakra.
RED: Red is used in spells involving love, magnetism, passion, physical health, sexuality, strength, and willpower. It is associated with the astrological signs of Aries and Scorpio and the sacral chakra.
SILVER: Silver is associated with Moon magic and all lunar deities, as well as the astrological sign of Cancer.
YELLOW: Yellow is used in spells involving confidence, persuasion, school, and the mental powers. It is associated with the astrological sign of Gemini and the brow (third eye) chakra.
WHITE: White is the sacred color of the Goddess. Use white candles for exorcism, meditation, purification, and spells involving spirituality, truth, virginity, and new beginnings.
