The Cleric Scrolls

With the curse of The Nameless One upon them, the Sidhe left this world in search of a better life. Before their departure, the Order of Armethius constructed a great tower to hold the knowledge of the Sidhe. They then cast a powerful spell to cloak the tower from the mortal realm, in order to shield the tower from destruction by the Nameless One.

For countless millennia, the tower was shrouded within the confines of the protective spell. When it was once again visible to the mortal realm, the world was a much different place. Many races now inhabited the lands. The tower was soon discovered by a wandering band of nomads, and quickly they spread word of it's discovery. Never before had such a monument been seen upon the world. Due to the residual effects of the spell cast by Sidhe, the tower shined, and had an almost opaque shimmer to it. This affect lent to the myth that the tower was a construct of the gods, and therefore was called the Tower of Divinity. Scholars from all corners of the globe gathered to catch a glimpse of the contents held within the tower. To their surprise and delight, the tower contained a great library full of large tomes, but all the books were written in a ancient and long forgotten script.

Many years had passed, and the scholars managed to decipher some of the ancient texts. Much of the first book was dedicated to healing, and protection, and it described in detail the workings of magic. Most of the scholars involved in the translation believed that the magic described could only be performed by the gods, and were scared to attempt it's use. Only a young apprentice named Celoric was curious enough to try. To his surprise and delight he found the magic to be true, and to be useable by mortals. Quietly he informed his master of his discovery, but the news quickly spread around the tower. Others tried to repeat Celoric's success, but not all could. They discovered only a few of them had the inherent ability to make magic.

Upon the discovery of the power contained within the Tower, the scholars called upon the Knights to help protect the tower from potential looters. Those who could do magic formed the group now known as Clerics to study the ways of magic.
