October's game was October 8th, at the ST's house. Man, oh, man. There were some major boring parts for lots of people, but they may have been the lucky ones (well, their characters, at least). We had more PC deaths this time, and several NPCs deaths. Lots of activity, to the point that we held over game (at the players' insistance) for about a half hour or so. Oh, the humanity. And the blood. And the faith. And the willpower. November's game will be November 19th, due to so much non-game activity busying up the weekends between October's game and November's originally scheduled date of the 12th. And, yes, we still have the same problem we will continue to have until Crucible's story is done, though; trying to have something for everyone to do at our monthly gathering. WIth the main storyline being the major hunter/vampire all-or-nothing battle, it is nearly impossible to come up with any ideas for everyone to be involved with (at least for any major portion of the night). The way it's going right now, we can get about, maybe a fourth of the players involved at one time, but then the rest are just sitting around, waiting. That sucks. Also, we are having a huge problem keeping communication with some of the most active players (who are part of the main keeping-things-going part of the game). We also feel so bad for all of the new additions to Crucible who are missing out on the great part of Crucible; the personal storylines and in-depth personal touches. Due to the end-game storyline, there's just no time, rhyme or reason for a lot of that stuff. And, yes, that sucks. Many apologies from the ST and the Narrators for this. We have yet figured out how to avoid this part, and there are only a couple of short months left before the end. Remember, with the holidays and such coming up (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) and people having so many non-game activities (family, etc.), these last few (five or fewer) months (November, December, January, February and maybe March) are going to provide sparse and hectic gaming opportunities, so please bear with us and try to get involved as much as you can. There are still a few new Players Guides available! They have no folders, so you must provide your own (or a binder, or whatever!). There are some changes and some fixes (like all those typos that nobody told me about!). Everyone should get a brand new one. Just a quick rundown of the tentative Crucible game dates for 2005: November 19th, December 10th. And for 2006 (if we're still going): January 14, February 11th, March 11th, and April 8th or 15th (definitely the latest possible date for the last game, no matter what!). More than likely, Crucible will be done by February or March of 2006, with April (the 8th Anniversary) being the giant Crucible "Exposition Party", where all cards are on the table, all secrets get told, etc., etc., and hopefully we'll see a bunch of faces that haven't played in a long, long time (like Emil, Eli, Patrick, Loni (if she's in the country and the state! LOL), Scott (ditto), Ken, Kurt, Deb, Kat, Linda, Dian, Johanna, Mitch, etc., etc.). Also, remember the Dark Nation (formerly: Ashes) game (it's mentioned on the links page, and has a write-up on the Player's News Page). I believe it's usually on the fourth Saturday of every month, more or less (like Crucible is supposed to be on the second Saturday of every month, but sometimes things have to change, due to real life). And for those who are looking for a LARP that's not Vampires, check out Ari's "Perchance To Dream" game (also on the links page), which is a fresh, new Changeling (faerie) LARP. Most of the Personal Pages have been updated up to August's X.P. Expenditures, but I could be wrong. All of the Personal Pages have all of the X.P. on them, but maybe not all of the expenditures. All of the Personal Pages have been updated with X.P., etc. up to August's X.P. If yours is not, drop us a line and let us know that you're actually interested in spending your X.P. Nominations up through August, 2005 have been updated (for real, this time!). Remember: even if you don't have time to get together a Journal, PLEASE turn in Nominations. Stand up and be counted! Give your fellow players the slap on the back they deserve (or give yourself the slap on the back you deserve). And I know, with this group, that if you cannot think of anyone for at least one of the categories, you weren't paying attention at all! Nominations are due within ten days of the game, but try to get them in sooner; the sooner you get them in, the sooner we can count them and get XP out! Maliki? Hmmm... says he's an "angel of peace". Lavenia doesn't seem to believe him and from the rumors, if she doesn't believe him... he's probably not an angel. ~The fists of The Smelter will crush their bones to dust. ~Stevie and Marco are wanted by the FBI. ~Where is Suok? ~Netherdyne is somehow still in the black. Someone very competent and very devoted must be in charge. Or, at least, doing all the work. ~Princess, of the Pride, has returned... she seems different, darker... ~Marissa is definitely a wraith. And living wherever she can... ~Jimmy is the Seneschal? And Tempest dead? Umm... does that make Jimmy Prince? What does Jimmy say about this? Are Camarilla laws in place? Who is enforcing them? Where is the Primogen? ~Why haven't any new vampires shown up in town? Every other time there's a war or big battle, they seem to show up in great numbers. ~The hunters have been very successful. Look around... who's not here anymore? ~The hunters are strong and their resources outweigh those of their incredibly wily, resourceful quarry. ~Has anyone seen Colt, lately? ~Lucas Dupree has been taken by allies from the other side... ~Black and white.
