But what Dream? Simply put, the Dream of magick. While many would argue that magick doesn't and never has existed, noone can do so adiquately. For I and countless others have seen proof that magick exists with our own eyes.
The Dream is not about forcing everyone to buy a Tarot deck and perform daily spells, the Dream is about not having our knowledge ridiculed and scorned. "Live and let live," is our motto. However, "Ignorance kills," is another motto that must be remembered, and the ignorance of the Dreamless continue to hurt us. Many people refuse to acknowledge Wicca as a real religion, and the more agressive of the Dreamless continue to act as if the Burning Times are still going. Indeed, who can say it's not?
Many would say we're insane. If that is so why is the Wiccan religion becoming more popular as of late? And why aren't the traditional religions like Christianity also persicuted? Why is believing in someone who could cure lepers and rise from the dead more acceptable than believing that someone could cast a spell to help a friend find their true love? They both sound in the same camp to me.
But I didn't put this page on the web to rant. I put it here to inform. Time permitting, I hope to be able to share insights into the philosophy behind the modern belief in magic, both Wiccan and non-Wiccan perspectives. Many thanks for this site goes to Mistypaw, who started the first Defenders of the Dream site. In her site are links to the oathbook and forum she set up for Dreamers like us. Visit them and make your voice heard. Let the world know that magick still exists, and that everyone is living proof!
Let the world know that somebody does indeed dare to Dream. And as long as one person still Dreams, the world is not all lost.
