Raven of White
The candle flickers through
the mist of the rain
My scared grove, who calls me by name,
Calls on me as a child of the night
Calling me lovingly by the candle light.
The Moon shines down on my
pale white face
Illuminating me to a point of haunting grace,
I speak softly, invokingly: "Where are you, Goddess of magickal
light ?"
She answers, "Look inside my dear, I am the light."
"Listen to the mist touch
the feathers of the sparrow,
Listen to the candle flame hiss your new song;
Be patient my child, your powers will come,
Your heart is the place they will come from."
Patiently I sit pondering on
Her words,
Meditating deeply I began to see a light;
My heart pounds with excitement
It's a white raven with Her feathers tucked tight.
"Climb on", She says,"
I want to take you someplace."
On I climb to feathers so soft, white as snow and just as soft.
Her eyes are as crystals, She wears a choker of malachite.
Her voice is so gentle as the breeze through the trees.
"Where my fair raven,
shall I go with you ?",
Softly She says,"quiet my child sit and watch the view."
Through valleys, over mountains
and plains of green,
Over rivers and lakes and lavender fields;
The beauty overtakes me, a loss of breath I feel,
I began to realize what I am to learn here.
My life is full of breath taking
scenes,
On the wings of this raven the light I had truly seen.
No sooner than my breath I
had caught,
She landing so firmly on a golden & magickal spot.
"Here my child is where you now began",
I looked around and saw my sacred spot.
"Why the journey?", I respectfully ask,
"Because my child, you were going so fast."
"Slow down and listen,
watch and feel,
Your magickal powers are awaiting you here".
"You need not look no further than you walk,
You have already found your sacred spot".
Suddenly, I felt a wisp of
cool night air,
brush across my face and through my hair.
My eyes opened to the candle's flickering light,
The raven was gone, flying into the night.
This magickal night I learned
something new,
Don't take for granted what you already knew.
Blessed Be !
