Equipment: Mobile Infantry Power Suit
The standard issue Mobile Infantry power suit allows its wearer to become
almost a one man army. It provides a sealed enviroment that lasts indefinetly as long as the suits batteries are operational. Should the batteries be compromised the suit has a back up power source that provides life support for one hour.
The suit also provides body armor for the trooper, and is the equivilent of IN body armor.
It has an advanced sensory array which provides IN telesopic and infrared vision as well as +1CS to all shooting feats.
Finally the suit has a communications array which provides for EX radio transmission and reception.
M-21 Assault Combat System
The M-21 is the most advanced combat rifle known to SICON forces. It provides troopers with an assault rifle which fires 7.62 mm caseless rounds. This weapon inflicts RM shooting damage and has a payload of 500 rounds.
In addition it carries an integral 40mm grenade launcher which fires IN intensity plasma grenades. The payload for this weapon is 20 rounds.
Finally the M-21 is capable of interfacing with the M.I. power suit and providing the user with a +2CS bonus when firing this weapon. Combined with the suits own targeting suite this grants the trooper a whopping +3CS advantage over an enemy.

Personal History: Johnny Rico was an average young man through out school. The only thing he excelled in was athletics and he became a highly decorated football player. Johnny only joined the military to be close to his one true love Carmen Ibanez; but while Carmen showed apptitude in many areas and was
accepted to flight school, Rico had to settle for the Mobile Infantry.
Rico nearly washed out of boot camp until he was taken under the wing of Career Seargent Zimm, his drill instructor. When Zimm was seriously injured due to a mistake Rico made during a training exercise Rico nearly resigned but decided to stick it out. Upon completion of training he was assigned to be part of the anti-bug operation on Pluto.
Assigned to the USS Valley Forge Rico recieved a posting with Razak's Roughnecks, commanded by one of his old high school teachers. The Roughnecks were the first unit dropped on Pluto and played a major part in the Pluto, Hydora, and Tauphid campaigns. Then during the Teska Nemarosa campaign Rico was seriously injured and nearly recieved a Section Eight due to his injuries.
However Rico recovered with the aid of his fellow Roughnecks who had come to regard him as the heart of their unit. While stranded on an asteroid Rico recieved a promotion by Lieutenant Razak to corporal. Later after Seargent Bruto was injured and sent back to Earth he was promoted again to seargent.
During the Terran campaign, Lieutenant Razak was killed while clearing out a bug nest beneath San Fransisco. Because of his distinguished record he recieved a promotion to lieutenant and was given command of the Roughnecks. Considering his track record so far this is not the last time Rico will be placed in a command position.

Personal History: Robert Higgins has always had one ambition in life, to be a journalist. All through school he excelled at writing and journalism, but continued to fall short in his social skills. He even made editor of his high school paper but rarely, if ever went on a date.
Robert attended college at NYU on a journalism scholership and there met Crystal Saunders, another journalism student, and the two soon became inseperable. When Operation: Clean Sweep was announced Fednet offered to sign Robert as a corespondent. He jumped at the chance, only to discover he would be assigned to cover the war from the front with an M.I. unit.
As fate would have it Robert was assigned to Razak's Roughnecks, the unit schedualed to be the first dropped on Pluto. Despite his shy demeanor and the fact that he was completly unsuited for combat Robert was able to make friends with several of the Roughnecks, including Private Johnny Rico who took him under his wing and made him a functional trooper, if barely.
Higgins has filed reports from every campaign of the war, and has even been instrumental in saving the Roughneck's lives a few times. He is respected by everyone of them, although few would admit it openly. He is still emotionally close to Ms. Saunders and they are engaged to be married once his tour of duty is up. "This is Robert Higgins reporting from the front lines of the Bug War," is possibly the most common phrase heard on Earth today.

Background: Francis Brutto is a career NCO. He has never aspired to be anything more although he has the makings of a fine officer. He joined the Mobile Infantry to continue the long line of Brutto men who have served in the armed forces.
Brutto served under Lieutenant Razak's command during Operation: Pest Control and when Razak returned to active duty Brutto requested assignment to the Roughnecks. Brutto has proven to be a fine squad leader despite occasional clashes with Johnny Rico and the other rookies.
Brutto was forced to leave the Roughnecks after he was paralyzed while preventing a mutated Zander Barcalow from crashing the Valley Forge into the surface of Klendathu. Brutto was sent back to Earth as a paraplegic. He began to doubt his selfworth and even considered suicide until he aided the Roughnecks in one last mission, rescuing General Redwing and Private Higgins from Bugs which had captured them at Lieutenant Razak's funeral. Brutto then accepted a commision as part of Redwing's staff and his son Private max Brutto was assigned to the Roughnecks following Basic Training to carry on his father's legacy.

Cybernetic Arm: Razak's left arm is cybernetic. It has IN material strength and provides him with RM strength for that arm only.

Background: Gene Razak is without a doubt the finest officer to come out of the mobile infantry. He was a colonel prior to Operation: Pest Control but he lost an arm during the engagment and decided to retire. He became a teacher and taught Johnny Ricco, Carmen Ibanez, "Dizzy" Flores, and Carl Jenkins their senior year.
With the return of the bugs to Pluto SICON "invited" Razak back into the fold. Razak agreed but refused any commision higher then lieutenant. His request was granted and he was given a squad which was a mix of veterans and rookie troopers. Razak's Roughnecks were often called upon to do the impossible and they always pulled it off. Then came the invasion of Earth by the bugs, and the Battle of San Fransisco.
Lieutenant Razak was part of an operation to flood bug tunnels under San Fransisco Bay. He was in the midst of rescuing Sergent Rico when he was attacked and killed by a Water Tiger. However his sacrifice was not in vain because the city of San Fransisco was saved intact as a result of his heroism. Razak's ashes were scattered over Luna Lake in Colorado, as per his final request.

Personal History: Isabelle Flores met Johnny Rico and Carl Jenkins when she moved to Buanos Aries her junior year of high school. She fell instantly in love with Johnny who for his part came to view her as a kid sister. After
graduation both of them joined the Mobile Infantry, although Flores joined for pure patriotic reasons. The ended up in the same training squad and the
together in Razak's Roughnecks.
As a member of the Roughnecks Flores continually proved herself to be one of trhe most able, and insane, members of the squad. She often rushed into bug emplacments with absoulutly no regard for her own safety. The only thing that Flores has ever been afriad of is enclosed spaces due to extreme claustrophobia.
Because of her unrequited love for Rico Flores has had several flings including one with Jeff Gossard, and another with Zander Barcalow. Flores is very close to her family, especially her brother Eduardo, who gave her the nickname Dizzy. Eduardo also joined the M.I. and is currently listed as MIA, a fact that struck Flores greatly.
The rest of Flores' family was killed during the bug assault on Buanos Aries in 2080. Left alone with no one left she began to shut everyone out of her life. Only through the urgings of Carl Jenkins has she began to put the pieces of her life back together, including starting a relationship with Rico who only recently admitted his true feelings for her.
