Equipment: Skulls of Death
Professor Death is a master of chemicaly created poisons and explosives. He seems to have a fondness with skulls, so he usualy packages his poisons and chemicals in skull-shaped containers. These he can throw (like grenades) or set to go off when moved or with a conventional timer. His favorite mixtures are standard explosives that do RM (30) damage, Smoke that blinds with IN (40) effect, and his personal mixture called "Death-13" - an AM (50) strength Nerve Gas that calls for a Yellow Endurance FEAT roll to resist paralasis (1-10 rounds), and a Green Endurance FEAT to avoid dying. He is strong enough to throw these 5 spaces.
Limitations: Professor Death is VERY badly scarred. Though only 31 years old, he looks much older thanks to exposure to Death 13 and the effects of the explosion he survived.
Talents: Thrown Weapons, Crime, Chemist.
Contacts: His crime organization. Perhaps he's also a member of the Combine.
History: The man who would one day become Professor Death was born in 1944 Munich, Germany. Adopted by an American Colonel, the young Hannibal Burns was raised in the States. In late October 1973, he was working on a new type of nerve gas called "Dethx-13" being developed by the Exeter Research Corporation...when a beaker of Dethx-13 and another, highly volatile compound was knocked to the ground...resulting in an explosion!
A security guard was the first to find Professor Burns. While trying to help the professor, Hannibal suddenly clamped his hands around the mans throat and strangled him. After he'd killed the guard, Burns stole his clothes and vanished into the night...only to resurface later as the head of a rapidly-growing crime-ring in the New York area. Based in a freighter anchored at a boat basin on Manhattan's upper west side, Professor Death has managed to gain control over 54% of the cities underworld.
During an encounter with the FBI Agent known as "Man-Stalker" (actually John Targett) he lost his base and perhaps his life. But is it too much to assume that a man who could survive one explosion couldn't survive another?
Description: Looking like the corpse of a very old man, Professor Death isn't going to win any fans with his looks. His skin is a mottled greenish-purple and his graying hair is worn in two peaks (like the Marvel hero's Quicksilver and Starfox), while his body is clothed in what could pass for a Dracula costume. He's very aware of his unpleasant appearance, and is willing to use it to his advantage.
Personality: "I already have control of 54% of this city's underworld -- but quite naturally, that's not quite enough! To gain power over the remaining 46%, we will need to proceed with Project Death's Head.."
As you can tell from the above line of dialogue, Professor Death is a driven man with a passion for "Projects" and the skill to successfully enact them. He lost to John Targett once...but he's doubtless already rebuilding his organization even as we speak.
