The Omega Men are a group of galactic rebels that banded together in the Vegan System to fight first the tyrannical Citadel, and later the notorious Spider Guild. Hal Jordan met and aided the Omega Men on two separate occasions: once on Earth and again on Garon.
One of the Vegan sector's major inhabitants, the Psions, were created by the Guardians as an early experiment to combat the forces of evil. After the experiment failed and the Guardians granted the Psions their freedom, the elders of Oa promised the reptilian creatures that they would be forever free of further Oan interference. This meant that a Green Lantern could take no direct action against the Psions or their allies without risking the Guardians' anger.
In addition to their involvement with the Hal Jordan Green Lantern, the Omega Men have been heavily involved with the New Teen Titans as well. One of their members, Ryand'r, is Teen Titan Starfire's brother. The Omegans have recently established their own homeworld.
