Powers: "Ultra-Frequency Energy Waves" Moomba can generate these Monstrous (75) energy waves from his body. As they radiate out from his body they spread out in ever widening arcs, eventually reaching every corner of an Earth-sized planet. These waves allow his to control his Legions on a global scale, issuing commands and dictates that are followed immediately by his loyal minions. When he tunes his mind to the human brain frequency, he can selectively erase information from humans. This is how he made us all forget that he'd conquered our world.

Flight: He only does it once, but it looks as though Moomba can fly with Typical (6) speed (6 areas, 90 mph)within a planetary atmosphere.) If he needs to, he can gather his Legions together and command them to join into a single form around him...becoming a sort of wooden rocket ship! In this form (the ship is about 150 feet long) he can fly through deep space with Shift Z (500) speeds. This is a little slow for interplanetary travel, but I suspect that Moomba and his Legions are very long lived.

Water Freedom: Moomba can swim, and has no problem functioning in aquatic environments. AS HE SAY'S "Moomba TOO is at home in the water!"

Super-dense Wooden Hide: Moomba's body is composed of a super-dense substance the closely resembles ordinary wood, but is resistant to most conventional weaponry. In the immortal words of Moomba himself..."Nothing can slay me! Nothing! I am INVINCIBLE! I AM MOOMBA!!"

Actually, he's not quite "Invincible", but bullets, grenades and howitzer shells all failed to make a dent in him. I'd say it's fair to give him Amazing (50) protection from physical attacks and Remarkable (30) protection from Energy.

Resistance to Fire: Unearthly (100) protection from Fire. It was actually his "Legions" who displayed this ability, but it's safe to assume that Moomba himself is also resistant.

"Moomba's Legions": Moomba is served by hundreds (perhaps even thousands) of bizarre beings that all look like colorfully painted, carved wooden statues. They only seem to stand between 3 and 5 feet tall, but are much more dangerous than they look. It is unknown if these beings are actually members of Moomba's own race, or a sort of Golom or Robot he's created to serve him.

They all possess the same "Super-Dense Hide", "Resistance to Fire" and "Flight" that Moomba does, but at one rank less. Also, they have the same ability to understand languages.

Limitations: Moomba has to be at the top of a tall mountain to spread his "Ultra-Frequency Energy Waves" over a whole planet. If unable to reach such a stable height (Just flying high into the air won't work. He HAS to be braced and standing) he cannot extend his control much further than a few miles. Also, he seems to have no resistance to some forms of magic. If using the old "Realms of Magic", then assume that he has no special resistance to Dimensional spells invoking the Entities of Order (page 17, Book 2 : Manual of Mysticism) and that he has special vulnerability to "Entreaty Spells" (page 32, Book 1 : Manual of Magic) that invoke the "Spirit of the Golden Sun". Any Entreaty to the "Spirit of the Golden Sun" has its effect raised by +1 Rank.

"Spirit of the Golden Sun"

The Entity: Unrevealed, but the "Spirit of the Golden Sun" is probably one of the Entities of Order. He is spoken of as being a "Protector" and may be tied to the natural world.

The Spells:

"Oh, Spirit of the Golden Sun, still the body of the enemy!" creates a glowing, golden mist that envelopes a single opponent, acting as Remarkable (30) rank "Paralyze" and "Vapors of Obscurity" and towards the target alone. If the alien entity known as Moomba is the target (perhaps also "Groot, the Monster from Planet X", "The Living Totem" and any other giant, wooden entity or construct ;>), then its effect is of Monstrous (75) rank and also inflects power rank damage every round.

Miscellaneous Use:

Invoking the "Spirit of the Golden Sun" any Aura or Vapors spell will add +1CS to any successful effects of that spell.

"Oh, mighty protector of (the) jungle...defeat the wooden enemies of our world!" will add +1CS to any spell from the Universal Energy list that is cast on a wooden opponent.

Talents: Space Navigation, the "African Sculpture" market and Gloating.
Contacts: None, except for his race or servants.

History: When "Frank the Big Game Hunter" found nobody was buying his stuffed animal heads any more (jackass), he moved into the African Sculpture trade and started bartering beads and flour for native crafts. Having many friendly contacts with the natives (OK, he's not a total jackass), he corners the market for native statues. While visiting the Balubbi tribe he is told by the tribal shaman "Katu" that the statues are an evil and must be destroyed. Katu is in the act of casting some sort of spell on three statues at the time.

Frank decides not to listen to this advice, and a couple weeks later he finds a giant statue covered in thick vegetation. Just as he's wondering how to move the statue, the statue animates and moves towards him. Frank shoots it, but the statue gloats "Fool! Puny weapons cannot harm the mighty MOOMBA!! NOTHING can stop Moomba!!"

Moomba then reveals that he's used Frank as a tool to spread his warriors "...among the nations of the Earth!" and that now, the time is right to strike! He hefts Frank up in one hand and (after fighting off a tribe of pygmies who tried to kill Moomba with poison darts) he climbs to the top of the tallest mountain and commands his legions to conquer the world. Being immune to fire and most conventional attacks, Moomba and his legions soon enslave the world. In fact, we'd still be at the mercy of Moomba...if not for Katu striding forward from a crowd and calling upon the "Golden Sun!"

"Some - something is wrong! I - I can't walk any further! My limbs grow rigid!! I -- I cannot move!! YOU! YOU did this to me! But it will avail you nothing!! I shall BREAK the spell!! If -- If only I could MOVE!! My brain grown cloudy...the sight is leaving my eyes!! I - I am DYING! NO! I must not be! I must not be! I must not perish! Name your price -- I will do ANYTHING -- but do not let Moomba die!! LET ME LIVE!!"

Showing mercy, Katu forces Moomba to swear he will gather his minions and leave Earth...never to return. But first, he commands that Moomba use his powers to erase all memory of his presence from the minds of the human race.

Moomba left, but it makes me wonder if he didn't salt a couple of his minions away in the jungle, just waiting for the proper chance to return. After all these years Katu has doubtless passed on, so Moomba might consider himself free from his debt. Also, what about the giant "Living Totem" that stumbled around the Old West and fought the Rawhide Kid and the Avengers. Was the "Living Totem" actually on of Moomba's more powerful minions? If so, then at least one of Moomba's Legion is still on Earth...though trapped.

Description: Lumbering and massive, Moomba appears to be a gigantic statue "...at least twenty feet tall!" of carved wood (wearing little red trunks to cover his naughty bits ;>)

Personality: Though a boastful bully at hart, Moomba is also capable of careful planning and is willing to wait months or years for a scheme to pay off. Nothing enrages him more than having his power challenged, but he'd rather lord it over a beaten foe than kill them. When the Army sends tanks after him, he tore them in half and dumped the crews out onto the ground, saying "Tumble out of your iron machines, puny creatures! HA! HA! HA!"

Powers: Stone Hide
The body of Thorr is composed of super-dense stone, providing him with Incredible (40) protection from Physical attacks, Remarkable protection from Energy and Amazing protection from Heat and Flame.

Energy Focus: Thorr was able to project a bean of concentrated light so bright and focused, that it was visible to his leaders in space. This is pretty impressive, so I'm giving him Unearthly (100) Light Projection with a range in the hundreds of miles. Though all he did was signal his leaders, he may also use this to blind an opponent, or focus it into a Laser Beam to inflect Unearthly (100) damage.

Immortality: Thorr's race seems to be astonishingly long lived. Barring violent death, it's safe to say they can live for millions of years.

Limitations: Thorr (like the rest of his race) needs to breath. If dropped in the ocean, Thorr is far to heavy to swim and will sink like a...well...a stone.

Talents: Martial Arts A, Espionage, Military Tactician.
Contacts: His leaders and his race.

History: Doctor Linus and his shockingly bitchy wife Helen are poking around a newly discovered island in the south pacific, when Linus stumbles upon some alien machinery and awakens Thorr, who he'd mistaken for just another of the islands grotesque statues. As Thorr himself puts it...

"I have waited ever sense that first day a million years ago, when our leaders send out the expedition..."

Convincing Thorr that the entire island was all that counted as civilization Earth, Thorr decides to lord it up over the natives. After conquering the island (in a matter ours) he signals to his leaders (who were perhaps also in suspended animation on the moon? Or something...) and they come down to congratulate him on the successful conquest of Earth.

Thankfully for us, Linus throws some dynamite down a volcano and the island sinks...drowning the aliens...and I guess the villagers as well. Linus, Helen and the tribes chief escape.

This story raised more than the usual crop of questions. My favorite is "Why wait a million years?" Were they waiting for something to evolve that would be worth conquering?. Then again, a million years ago the planet may have been inhabited by beings who were too tough for Thorr's people. Also, what makes an island of a few hundred tiny people worth conquering any way.

Description: A gigantic "Easter Island" head surmounting a massive stone body.

Personality: Like most giant monsters, Thorr was a conquest mad bully who wanted to rule the Earth. He wasn't too vicious, content to capture and threaten opponents instead of kill them.
