Powers: Invulnerability

Projectiles like bullets, arrows and such usualy pass through the Bog Beast's body harmlessly. In essence, this counts as RM (30) protection from projectiles. Against all other attacks, Bog-Beast has GD (10) protection.

Limitations: The Bog-Beast seems to be mute.

Talents: First Aid, Possibly others.
Contacts: His subterranean race could count as a contact.

History: The being know to the world as "Bog-Beast" (a name given to him by the circus that had captured and exhibited him against his will) is actually a very intelligent and sensitive being. Whether dispatched or leaving on his own, the "Bog-Beast" is an explorer from an ancient, subterranean race that sent him to the surface world to learn about human beings.

His first encounters with humans weren't very positive. He emerged from the La Brea Tar Pits and wandered to an abandoned farm house and encountered a pair of fugitives (Judy and Ralph) and saves Ralph's life (despite the fact that Judy is shooting at him) by bandaging his gunshot wound. Just then the police catch up with them, and the Bog-Beast defends them - not knowing that he's fallen in with a pair of criminals. The three of them start off and Ralph (grateful for the help he's been given) tries to communicate with the Bog-Beast.

However, Judy goes to a nearby carnival and sells the Bog-Beast to them for their sideshow. Ralph tries to rescue him (it took a half-dozen big men to force him into his cage) but gets shot by his girlfriend. He still manages to rescue the Bog-Beast, but dies soon after. Bog-Beast goes in search of Judy, and she dies while fleeing him.

Later, the Bog Beast has a puzzling encounter with a female werewolf - whose killings are blamed on him. He thinks he's rescuing her from more of these terrible "Police" (who seem to be a common threat on the surface world) but later when she transforms into her wolf-woman form, she tries to kill him. She dies from a fall off a cliff, and the police find her just then. They think she's another victim of the "Bog Beast" and they manage to capture him. Those are his only appearances.

It's possible that someone eventually manages to communicate with him - but it's also possible that the Bog Beast fights his way out and continues to have confusing (but very well drawn ;>) Swamp-Thing/Man-Thing style adventurers in the swamps and backwoods of America.

Description: The Bog Beast is a very tall, horrifying looking being. He could almost be mistaken for a rotting, human corpse or a skeleton thickly drizzled with brownish red wax. I have a theory that the Bog Beast is actually the confused, delusional corpse of one of the Deiei - preserved by the La Brea Tar Pits and resurrected in some as yet unknown manner. I have no reason for this theory other than it fits my current campaign.

Personality: Despite his frightening appearance, the being called Bog Beast is actually quite gentle and very intelligent. He only defends himself if he must.
