Through a spatial worm-hole they came - Venev, Angon, Glonth, Slodd, Pritor, Lissik and Gemir- shape-shifting alien parasites who had decimated one universe, only to seek another realm to sate their voracious appetites. Their warp drive crippled by the bounty hunter Lobo and the forces of L.E.G.I.O.N., the parasites crashed to Earth and feasted on the spinal fluids of countless humans. They suffered the loss of one of their number (which limited their shape-changing abilities to their alien form and one humanoid form).

However, a small number of the parasites' victims survived the attacks, inexplicably gaining metahuman abilities. Dubbed "New Bloods" by the media, these new heroes joined the conflict and defeated the alien known as the Taker, who had absorbed the alien parasites.

History
Angon is a parasite from a race of shape-shifting parasites. They came from Earth, and their ship was boarded by a search team from the L.E.G.I.O.N. led by Layla. The parasites attacked the team that came onto the ship, until only Layla and Lobo were left. After the L.E.G.I.O.N. left, there were only six parasites left.

The parasite ship crashed on Earth, and the remaining parasites hid it, then watched as a couple of motorcyclists rode up to investigate. Pritor, the leader, said to watch and observe. However, Angon just did her thing and attacked the motorcyclists. The other parasites, not wanting to leave everything to her, joined in. After feeding on the motorcyclists spinal fluid, the parasites changed into human form, the only form that they could change into now. The others were mad at Angon, and she left them, claiming the distant city she was going to go to as her own. That city was Metropolis.

When she got into the city, she knocked over an unfortunate bag lady's "hooch". The lady yelled at her, then was terrified as Angon shifted to her true form and fed. Angon decided that if she was going to get anywhere, she was going to have to keep her victims from screaming. She dumped the body down a storm drain, her eventual dumping ground.

Naturally, a number of people started disappearing. Among these was Tom O'Brien, who thought that he was saving a woman from an attacker, when the woman was actually Angon in her human form, trying to attack the "attacker". Angon fed on him and dumped him down into the storm drain, where he was found by the Underworlders. He was still alive, somehow, and he changed, forming blades all over his body. He took the name Edge and helped Henry Irons, the Man of Steel beat Angon, who moved on to a new city.

Sometime, she ended up in Gotham, where she decimated a squad of 10 officers. One of them, officer Mao, changed like Edge, though he got a hard carapace for skin, as well as enhanced vision and other things. He helped Batman (the replacement Batman, after Bruce's back was broken by Bane) to rid Gotham of Angon. They thought that they had blown her up, but she survived and was rescued by a fisherman near the trap they had set.

Next, she attacked a guy named Jamm, and was transported to the future where she was up against the Legion of Super-Heroes. After the fight, she was sent back to the modern time. She traveled some more, and was tricked by Eclipso into attacking a laboratory in the middle of a lake that had a fusion reactor powered by one of Eclipso's black crystals. After the reactor was disabled, Eclipso possessed Angon and wreaked havoc with her, before being stopped by Edge, Anima, Loose Cannon, Nightblade, and Sparx, along with the newest hero she created, Prism, the scientist who had created the fusion reactor.

Description
In her human form, she's very attractive, with long reddish-brown hair, blue eyes, and very slender. She looks to be wearing a strange red suit, which looks like armor, but is actually her skin (it looks exactly like the skin of the parasite she becomes). I'll write up her appearance as the parasite in the other write-up.

Personality
Angon acts cocky and reckless, and she's quick to anger. She left the others because they disagreed with the way she acted. Later, when she was up against Eclipso, Eclipso tricked her into attacking the reactor with taunting words, and kept her anger up with a bunch of decoy people (he had possessed many people and was keeping the anger of Angon up by goading her on).

Background: This Bloodlines alien was a red armored female who was the embodiment of anger. She created the new blood heroes of Edge, Ballistic, Jamm, Prism, and, with all of her brethren, had a hand (or tentacle) in creating Pax. She did not survive the birthing of the Taker.

THE TAKER
First appearance: JUSTICE LEAGUE AMERICA ANNUAL #7 (1993) (implied), ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN ANNUAL #5 (1993) (a tentacle), BLOODBATH #1 (Early December 1993) (emerged from the pod-ship); BLOOD PACK #4 (June 1995) (Taker clone)

A giant destructive creature that fed on the spinal fluids of sentient beings. These fluids were collected by parasites which gorged themselves and then threw themselves into its maw. Looked somewhat like a giant octopus with a distended, see-through stomach.

What the seven Bloodlines aliens were feeding with the spinal fluid they had collected from humans across the earth. When it was birthing from the Bloodlines' aliens pod-ship, it send out a subliminal call to all the new bloods created by the destruction caused by the aliens (and proving that there is a subtle telepathic link between all the new blood heroes). The Taker was able to immobilize a contingent of earth heroes directed to the scene by Amanda Waller, including various members of a special Justice League Task Force (with members from both Justice League America and Justice League International, as well as old Justice League of America members), the New Titans, the Team Titans, Deathstroke, Robin, Superboy, the Eradicator, Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner) and even Etrigan the Demon. The Taker was stopped by the combined forces of the new blood heroes (who had discovered they could literally combine their powers into one being, thanks to the help of the Animus of Anima). His body was taken away by Lobo under the direction of Vril Dox II and the L.E.G.I.O.N. A Taker clone was created by the Quarum and stopped by the Blood Pack (a collection of new bloods led by Jade), and hitman Tommy Monaghan and his friend, Natt the Hat, sacrificed their lives to stop an organization within the United States Government from grafting alien parts to humans in order to create new meta-humans they could control.
