Starfleet Academy requirements

Take one PC, add the following rules, let chill, serves 1.

Starfleet Academy requires that all students take certain core requirements (just like any other university), and also each service field (tactical, engineering, medical, sciences, etc) has it's own Curriculum (like a major).

The basic core requirements vary, and not every character learns every skill (what do you remember from your freshman year psych course???). Every cadet must exhibit a minimum proficiency in Blaster, Dodge, Alien Species or Cultures, and First Aid. All cadets except for Medical cadets must also show minimum proficiency in Brawl, and Brawl Parry, and Beauracracy: Starfleet (this skill covers Starfleet rules and regs, as well as how to use the chain of command). Tactical Cadets (those becoming navigators, weapons officers, or helmsmen) must also learn Capitol Ship Gunnery, Capitol Ship Shields, Capitol Ship Piloting, and Astrogation. Engineering cadets must learn Capitol Ship Repair, Capitol Ship Weapons Repair, Capitol Ship Shield Repair, and Computer Program/Repair. Science cadets must specialize in a branch of the natural, applied, or social sciences.

Candidates for a ship or division command (except starship CMO's) must exhibit some skill in Command, and a large degree of skill in their own service field. A specialization in Capitol Ship Engineering is required of Engineering department or Division officers.

Some form of formalized tactics training is recommended (but not required) for tactical department and division officers, and for ship command candidates.

A language other than their native tongue and Federation Standard Basic English (FSBE) is recommended for command candidates, and for division officers. Translators are required to show fluency in the language/s that they specialize in.
