The house should be considered to have Emotion Control: Fear 4 on at all times; only the Addams and their relatives/servants/pets are immune. Campaign use: Several possible story hooks here. The best one parallels an episode of the original series- Villains on the run from the heroes attempt to hide at the Addams Mansion, but, coincidentally, it is Halloween night, and the family mistakes them for trick-or-treaters. Once the villains realize the size of the Addams' fortune, they plot to find the vault, perhaps suggesting a game of hide and seek. As they and the family begin to spread out across the Mansion, the heroes arrive, searching for the villains. Should conflict arise as the heroes come across the various villains, the family members, thinking this a grand Halloween game, will jump in on any side that catches their fancy. Scarlett grew in power as the War progressed, but it was corrupt power from tainted sources. She became selfish and power-hungry. When the Confederacy fell, she was safe in her own sphere of influence, holding her servants and the surrounding towns in terror. She used life-extending magics to keep it that way well into the Twentieth Century. In the late 1930's, Her power began to fail, her poorly-trained spirit and weakened flesh no longer able to contain her burden of evil. By then, Scarlett had become tired and regretful of her fall frrom grace. Marshalling her will for one last powerful spell, she managed to bind her blighted spirit to this world even as her body died. She now exists as a ghost, but a powerfully sorcerous one. Taking up residence in New Orleans(a busy nexus of occult forces), she now strives to cleanse her stained soul by good deeds and guarding against otherworldly evils. E.Z. He will put his very unlife on the line for those he considers innocent and good, but shows no reluctance to use those he judges evil to quench his vampiric thirst. Delacroix was a cheerfuly troubled kid, always more into mischief and recreational brawling than real trouble. That came later, after he became a cop on the corrupt New Orleans police department of the day. Though basically a decent man, he was also lazy, and did little to keep himself from becomming just another lousy cop on the take. One night, E.Z. picked the wrong girl to harass on a routine solicitation bust. The woman he stopped was the vampiric mercenary called Flittermouse, who bit E.Z. and left him with the curse of vampirism. Newly arisen and terribly disoriented, he stalked the night streets for several weeks,hunting for blood and cursing himself for the way he'd wasted his life. That was when Scarlett Shadow found him. Scarlett was still fairly new to her ghostly exist- ance and looking for individuals of mystic and mun- dane talents to aid her in her work. She sensed in E.Z. a kindred spirit with a need to make up for old sins. With her help, he set himself up as a private eye in the city, helping troubled people and aiding in Scarlett's sorcerous endevours. It's a role he's been comfortable with for over forty years. You can tell I'm an Anne Rice fan, can't you? :} As far as I remember, there's really nothing going on in New Orleans of the Marvel Universe(does Brother Voodoo hang out there, maybe? I forget...). Cool." -Drummer, Planetary #3 Among certain circles, legend has it that there is the ghost of a betrayed cop in Hong Kong. He exsists only to take vengeance upon criminals, and will continue to do so until another cop is betrayed and murdered. The current Ghost Cop is Shek Chi-Wai, who was murdered by his partner, Mok, because Mok simply didn't like him. Discovering that there was no afterlife, no punishment for the sinners, Chi- Wai returns to remove these scum from the world now. APPEARANCE Shek Chi-Wai appears as a transparent asian man of average build wearing a business suit. A ghostly police badge hangs around his neck, and he has two ghost guns. When he uses the Homing Shot stunt, his eyes glow red. FUTURE At the end of Planetary #3, Chi-Wai has gotten vengeance against his murderer. Uninterrupted, he's likely to simply continue killing sinners in Hong Kong until another suffers his fate to replace him. At the simplest level the PCs could witness him in action, and perhaps learn a little from him if they talk (much as Planetary did). Or, he and the PCs could be after the same target, and eithor compete or cooperate. PCs may want the target alive to answer to his/her crimes, whereas Chi-Wai will simply try to kill the target, which could lead to conflict. Or, if the PCs are playing villians, and happen to do wrong in Hong Kong, they could find themselves staring down the barrel of a ghostly gun one night. He became an embalmer to pay the bills, but has always felt bitter at those who cost him his job, his colleagues who reported him. He was drunk one night with rage, and grabbed a gun from his office desk and got in his car to go and exact revenge on them. He never made it, his car crashed and he was killed instantly. With little left of his own mental faculties, he willed himself to return from the grave, truly unaware of what really happened to him.
