Calling: Demolisher
Hindrances: Susceptible (Sunlight)
Personality: Originally course and deviant, later maniacal and fanatic. Finally, Blackout's apparent "true" personality re-emerged, which was very cunning and intelligent.

History: Blackout is an intelligent and erudite man. The onset of his mutant ability to dampen light, combined with his albino skin, caused him to be obsessed with darkness and creatures of the night. A sociopath with no concern whatsoever for other human beings, Blackout had numerous surgical augmentations to give him the abilities of a vampire. As Blackout, he plied his trade as a very successful assassin. In dealing with other professionals, Blackout chose to affect a crude, nihilistic persona that meshed well with his own bloodthirsty personality. In one of his very first encounters with Ghost Rider, Blackout attempted to use his fangs on the hero. Encountering the hellfire that comprised Ghost Rider's body, Blackout's face was horribly scarred. This event unhinged Blackout's mind due to his extreme vanity.

Blackout continued to harrass the Ghost Rider, even moreso after learning of the hero's secret identity of Daniel Ketch. Blackout even went so far as to kill Ketch, who was only kept from immediate death by transforming into Ghost Rider at the last possible minute. Blackout later threw in his lot with Lillith, the so-called mother of demons. Lillith identified Blackout as the descendant of on of the Lillin, an extra-dimensional race of demons. However, it is possible she only made this claim in order to manipulate Blackout for her own amusement.

Following Lillith's defeat, Blackout spent months wandering New York in a haze. Eventually, he emerged from this stupor and reclaimed his life as the intelligent assassin he had been before his disfigurement. This coincided with his body's healing factor finally repairing his face. Crossing paths with Ghost Rider yet again, Blackout was repeatedly defeated by the Spirit of Vengeance and was last seen tied to the antenna of the Empire State Building as the morning sun began searing his albino flesh. However, this reaction to the sunlight could stem from a source beyond the supernatural (for example, a facet of his mutant abilities, a result of the operations that augmented his powers, or perhaps even a psychosomatic response). It cannot be assumed that Blackout perished and he may still be plying his trade in death throughout the New York underworld.

Using Blackout in Your Game: This is pretty simple. The good guys can come across Blackout on a job (his or theirs), or he could be hired to take out someone close to them. He's a hired assassin, so go nuts with him.
