Greetings, Heroes!
UPDATE: May 6th, 2001.
I've posted the guidelines for the The Marvel Contest III, sponsored
by this site, Martyrs and Madmen, and Wizards of the
Coast. I've also updated the The Strange Tales Roster Book Project page,
adding the most recent line-up.
And believe it or not, I've located 6 new villains that I'm currently working on for the
Obscure Villains Page, and man oh man are we talking obscure.
UPDATE: March 6th, 2001.
I've posted the winners of the The Marvel Contest II. I'm desperately
trying to come up with some villains for an OVP update, but it's getting harder and harder to find
suitable candidates. Any suggestions, guys?
UPDATE: January 6th, 2001.
The Marvel Contest II is up and running! If you've ever dreamed of
being a comic book artist, this could be your big chance! Win fabulous prizes! Have your handiwork
viewed by hund....er, dozens of people per month! Just check it out!
A new roster book has been added! With a mind-numbing 45 entries, the Lost Generation Roster
Book is the largest I've ever compiled! See below for details.
New Villains! Check out 8 new bad guys at the Obscure Villains Page!
The Strange Tales Roster Project proceeds! I've added new entries to the master list (thanks in part to
the email I've recieved from my loyal readers out there) and version 1.0 is available for viewing. With
nearly 150 entries on the total roster, we've got a long way to go.
Email me to add your contribution to the list!
The Marvel Super Heroes Adventure Game is a roleplaying game set in the world of Marvel Comics.
Produced by TSR and using the diceless and innovative Saga System, MSHAG allows players to take on
the roles of their favorite comic book characters or create their own heroes and villains. As a
longtime Gamesmaster and RPG fan (and, of late, a freelancer writer), I try to find unique ways to
spice up the game.
Over the course of and between my various MSHAG games, I've come up with a variety of resources
for Narrators to use. Here are some eclectic resources that I've pieced together, mostly inspired
by the interaction with other members of the Marvel Saga Mailing List, such as Steve Kenson, Steve
Kunec, Tom Costa, and Firebomb. If you find something you like,
drop me a line and let me know how you utilized it.
- Obscure Villains of the Marvel Universe - Everybody
loves a nobody, so here are some of the deadliest (sort of) nobodies in comics today! This is the
primary focus of my page.
- The Strange Tales Roster Book Project - With the cancellation of MSHAG by
Wizards of the Coast, the online community is coming together to compile the missing roster books on
our own. There are still lots of gaps to be filled if you would like to contribute to the Project!!
- The Eternals of Earth Roster Book - In the
tradition of Steve Kenson's online gaming articles, it's my take on some of Earth's most powerful
heroes.
- The Strikeforce: Morituri Roster Book - On an
alternate world, there are no heroes to defend Earth when aliens attack from space. Mankind soon learns
to produce superhumans, but the cost for power is a one-year life span!
- The Lost Generation Roster Book - Between the years of World War II
and the appearance of the Fantastic Four, an entire generation of heroes and villains has been lost to the
sands of time. Read about these brave (and dastardly!) souls here. Guest starring
The Monster Hunters!!
- The Octposterfest!! - From the annals of the Marvel Saga Mailing
List, it's the Strange Tales Postfest!! Check out all the occult and supernatural characters of the
Marvel Universe!
- Strength Chart - I used the old Handbook to the Marvel Universe to
decide how much a certain Strength level meant a character could lift. I'm sure this is way out of date.
- Bits and Pieces - This is where I'll be dumping any non-Marvel
characters that I write stats for. New rules or stunts that I devise are located here as well.
- My Campaigns - Various games I have concocted, some which have
never been played.
- Adventures - You can't have a campaign without adventures!
- Links - There's already a ton of great MSH pages out there. Here's a
few that I really enjoy and that you might find particularly useful in planning your campaign.
