Wendys on the World Wide Web

Having found a real Wendy Webb on the World Wide Web, I decided to search for other Wendys on the web. Here is a list of some of the ladies who share my main characters name. Wendy, by the way, is an interesting name with a fairly unique history. Names have lineages and origins, and frequently can startle you. Dot, for example derives from a polysyllabic old german name meaning eagle mighty. Over the centuries, it lost sylables in the front, and the end, until only one of the middle sylables was left. Unlike Dot and most other names, Wendy was created, it was invented by the author of Peter Pan, or so I read somewhere. So, it has its origins in imagination and fantasy. Possibly why there are so many poets named Wendy on the web, not to mention a triathlete, an astronaut, a dogsledder, (like in Call of the Wild), and a galaxy of other interesting Wendys.

 It occurs to me that one of these Wendys might want to start a webring for Wendys on the Web. If one exists, or one gets started, I will post a link to it here.
