When I was a younger man, I spent a year going to synagogue and learning about my Jewish heritage. The Rabbi apparently thought I wanted to study Kabbalah when I told him I wanted to study Talmud. What he didn't understand was that you can get a fair english translation of the Kabbalah for fifty cents in almost any second hand bookstore. Finding a translation of any kind of the Talmud is much harder. Who knows, if he had understood, I might have been Jewish today. Imagine, a jewish werewolf. It boggles the mind.

Books and Apocryphs Liberal Catholic Church International One of the Old Catholic Churches, split from Rome about 200 years ago. 
Why am I Catholic? With the Catholic Church, you know what you are getting as far as spiritual values are concerned when you move from city to city. With other denominations, you need to hunt around and hope you can find a church that has a real Christian spirit in its teachings and practice. Smaller denominations are like home brewed beer. Sometimes it is a really good batch, sometimes it is really nasty. With the Roman church you know you are getting good Christian values and spirit everywhere you go.

Evansville, Indiana is a nice little town. It boasts hundreds of neighborhood bars, frequently with specialty dishes like (yech) brain sandwiches. It is also the home of the Aztar Riverboat Gambling enterprise. The architecture downtown is fabulous, both inside and outside the official historical district. The people are polite and pleasant, judging them on 20 years in different parts of the world, they stand out as friendly people. From the time it warms up in the spring till late fall there is usually something goin on, like Thunder on the Ohio, or other special events, frequently on the riverfront. Across the border in Kentucky is a horse track. Lots to do. Most of which I can't afford.
