Some
stupid Televangelist decided to condemn D&D as "Satanic". This
did two things. It demonstrated (1) the ignorance and (2) the
stupidity of the Televangelical
Community.
D&D
is a fantasy role playing game
system.
It is nonaligned in religious
terms.
That is to say, the Christian
world
view is as appropriate to
D&D
as any other. In fact, It was
inspired
by the Lord of the Rings Trilogy
by
J.R.R. Tolkien. A classic tale of
the
struggle between Good and Evil.
So,
Christianity is a very appropriate
basis
for a D&D Campaign.
It
provides an
entertaining
and exciting way for
young
people to spend time together.
As
such, it is a natural tool for churches
looking
for something to bring
young
people together in a
Christian
community. A tool can
be
used for good as well as evil.
To
condemn the tool because you
ignorantly
believe that you should
disapprove
of how you think it is
being
used is the mark of narrow
minded
ignorance.
